Role and Missions

As a member of the System and Software engineering team, you will be responsible for managing the system team. You will oversee the definition of the system architecture and the successful execution of embedded model-based development and testing. The application domain is focused on the power control and energy management of hybrid and electric vehicles powertrain.

The accomplishment of this mission implies the agile management of the design, development, integration and testing in an iterative manner:

  • Leading team members operationally, working closely with technical leaders, developers, and testers to ensure that everyone understands team objectives, roles, responsibilities, and tasks.
  • Driving the requirements analysis and architecture definition.
  • Managing the development, integration, and tests with tasks assignation and effort estimation in accordance with requirements priorities arbitration.
  • Monitoring and tracking the planning in collaboration with the Project Manager.
  • Collaborating with the Project Management to the project’s risks and issues mitigation.
  • Managing the development process to ensure quality standards (A-SPICE, ISO 9001, ISO26262, ISO 21434) are met.
  • Identifying potential improvements to get the best team performance.
  • Ensuring a common understanding of team objectives.
  • Identifying potential problems and solving arbitration conflicts within the team.
  • Analyzing KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to track project execution and identify areas for improvement.
  • Leading technical workshops.
  • Managing the change requests, in collaboration with technical team leaders, by analyzing their impact and coordinating their implementation.
  • Reporting to the management.

The position requires pro-active involvement with Silicon Mobility’s various internal teams (Engineering, Products, Quality, Operations), Management, and external parties

Required skills and experience

EDUCATION

  • Master’s degree in embedded system, power electric or mechatronics engineering.

TECHNICAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 10 years in system team management in a similar domain (DC-DC converters, On Board Charger, Inverter).
  • Leadership.
  • Good Experience of the automotive environment and constraints.
  • Strong knowledge in electrical machine and power management system control.
  • Good knowledge in modelling tools as Matlab/Simullink.
  • Good knowledge of System-On-Chip and microcontroller.
  • Experienced in embedded software development on 32 bits RISC CPU environment is a plus.
  • Experienced in electronics board development.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify issues, obstacles, and opportunities and then develop and implement effective solutions.
  • ISO26262 knowledge and experience is a real advantage.
  • Solid technical understanding of products.
  • Didactics and analytical skills.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Fluent in English
  • French speaking is a plus.
